Wind Bowl I

550.00 Sold Out

The blank of this bowl was made out of an olive burl harvested two steps far from my workshop that I had cut in slabs and then seasoned for about five years. After designed the original shape I had in mind I started to turn the piece leaving the natural live edges protruding outside. This piece was entirely turned on the lathe to its final shape and treated with two coats of water base satin lacquer that allowed me to leave the natural light color unaltered. I called it "Wind Bowl I " because it reminded me to a tree blown by the wind and I find this piece shows its better shape and potential standing rather than resting on its base - I have shown this piece only a few times after it was completed in late 2015.
